The Story of Seashore Dreams

Our heart has been in Moclips for over 12 years. We would go there with our dogs and stay at The Barnacle on on Pacific Ave in "downtown" Moclips Every year we would walk the beach, enjoy the relaxing views and dream about someday owning our "home on the beach".

A random drive up State Route 109 on a sunny January day landed us an opportunity that we could envision. Most would remember the property as an over grow lot. The house was old and had been added on to several times over the years. The structure slanted, had the dreaded flat tar roof and the grass was three feet high. The other catch is it was only two feet from the edge of the cliff. My husband and I walked around to the backside of the property and went "wow" simultaneously. We sat down on the crumpled deck, looked at each other and said "looks like we're buying this".

We sold our "Sanity by the Sea" in Ocean shores to buy this decrepit property, and closed the deal on July 5, 2005. We stayed in the ramshackle home for a year as we slowly picked out our "team of locals" to help us with this dream. We picked out our Architect, Geo tech, Surveyor and Builder.

We wrote our mission statement. We built with a focus on the view, with clean energy and with renewable resources. We had one of the largest view lots and built a custom duplex home. Our builder was fabulous. We love our dogs and we know people love their dogs and the dogs love the beach, so we made our twin homes "dog friendly" for vacationers. So many of the vacation homes on the beach have stairs. We are 60 feet above the beach and chose to offer one level living with ramp entries and wider doorways and lower light switches. This is termed "Universal Design" in the building and real estate communities.

We began piecing out the old structure. Recycled a lot of the materials, fixtures and even the old built-in oven --someone was looking for that exact model. In September 2006, excavation began and after a long year of the wettest, rainiest season, we received "occupancy" from the County in September 2007.

Seashore Dreams is located 2o minutes North of Ocean Shores, 3 miles North of Seabrook, 1 mile North of Pacific Beach.
